Sleddog tours in Swedish Lapland

Detaild info about northernlightour with your own dogteam

A very special experience where you drive your own dog team in head-lamp light. Minimum age 16 years. Max 2 participants.

Description: Pick up time 1800 from your hotel or by appointment.  .

We go to the starting location where you will be able to change to warm clothes.

When you have warm clothes, headlamp and reflective vest it's time for instructions for how you run your own dog team and things that are important to think about.

We are preparing the dog teams and starts on the tour.

We drive in the column where the guide is first and the guest team in a row behind.

We follow Torneriver north first. When we leave the river and enters the forest will it start to climb and you will have to help the dogs through "kicking" and running in the steepest slopes.

When we reaches the highest part on our trail do we stop and make a fire and boil a cup of coffee / tea as we sit on the reindeerskin looking out over the prospect and hopefully the starry sky. In clear weather it is very good chance to see the northern lights. We run around a bit to be warm again before we prepare to continue the tour with the huskies. Our continuing journey with the dogs go through the forest before we come out on the river, and the last bit back to the starting spot. Here we clap on the dogs and give them a little snack before we take of the harness and load everything on the car and trailer.

The time for the sleddogtour with a coffee stop is at approximately 3-3 ½ hours.

We take the car and you are back to your hotel between the hours 2200-2300.
